Founder, CEO
Marge is a former member of the U.S. Army, Georgia State Alumni and manufacturing leader with over three decades of experience in scaled manufacturing. Marge has brought her pragmatic business sense and strong leadership to retail technology and has led a successful team of engineers and technical specialists through exponential growth. Marge lends a thoughtful, solutions-based perspective with a strong emphasis on quality and accountability.
Brian Laney
COO
Brian has 18 years of experience working with top tier companies across multiple industries to bring their ideas and products to life. His particular focus in product design, global sourcing, applied engineering (mechanical and electrical) and clear communications brings value to customers at all stages. Brian is a former University of Houston Cougar, Amateur Radio Operator, as well as a trained cook and private pilot. He is passionate about helping communities in emergency situations and building communities around his interests.
Don Adam
CFO
Don has over 30 years of international financial and management experience, including capital allocation, balance sheet optimization, treasury, financial planning and analysis, cost management, SEC reporting and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Alert Tech SMT, he spent 16 years with industry leader Benchmark Electronics, including serving as their CFO for more than a decade. This experience gives him the tools to confidently develop and execute plans to drive consistent growth as a trusted, valuable supplier for our customers. Don holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Eric Wichmann
Director, Manufacturing Operations
Eric brings 30 years of electronics manufacturing experience to Alert Tech SMT’s production operations. Throughout his career, he has held various roles in program management, continuous improvement, materials and supply chain management, and new customer introduction, as well as serving in executive management roles for 15 years. Prior to joining Alert Tech SMT, he was the VP/General Manager of SMTC, Region VP of VirTex and VP/General Manager of Flextronics. His areas of expertise include streamlining systems and identifying continuous change actions to reduce cost, creating and implementing business and operation strategies, and enhancing quality, productivity and margins. Eric holds a Bachelor degree in Finance from the University of Houston. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
Ricky Vaughn
Director, Business Technology + Information Systems
Ricky is a Senior Software Engineer with 25 years of experience. He honed his skills during his five-year tenure with the Marine Corps, where he designed and developed projects in collaboration with DARPA. He has successfully led international development teams on large application projects, which are currently in use in thousands of critical locations around the world. Skilled in relationship management with global partners, he specializes in data collection processing and analytics, machine-to-machine communication, multiple software languages including server, desktop and mobile, cloud utilization, rapid prototype design and development, raspberry pi, Linux, Windows, API and integration.
Dorothy Chapa
Purchasing Manager
With 33 years of CM experience in a wide range of jobs, Dorothy has been key in production, documentation and program management. She has spent time as Program Manager in Guadalajara and managed many U.S. accounts. Backed by decades of experience sourcing hard-to-find parts, she brings strong industry relationships and expertise to knock down purchasing and manufacturing hurdles.
John Plank
Process Engineering Manager
A seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, John brings exceptional insight to Alert Tech SMT’s process engineering. His expertise spans the oil and gas, defense and aerospace sectors. With a passion for innovation and a wealth of industry knowledge, John is always ready to navigate the challenges of the ever-evolving manufacturing landscape. When he’s not immersed in the world of technology, he can be found indulging in his hobbies of boating and spending quality time with his family.
Rick Vaughn
Senior Hardware Engineer
Rick has 30 years of component level control system design experience, with an emphasis in the petrochemical industry. He brings experience in communication protocols for both industrial and consumer applications, multi-node system design for both wired and non-wired data acquisition and control applications, and stand-alone and networked battery power system applications. Rick holds an FCC Commercial General Class Radio Telephone license and Amateur Radio Extra Class operator license.
Pam Wichmann
Director, Program Management
Pam brings over 25 years of CM experience in the electronics manufacturing industry to Alert Tech SMT’s Program Management Team. Drawing on experience running programs of all sizes in various industries and a track record of excellent customer service, she serves as the voice of the customer and helps ensure that schedules, change management and communication are in place to ensure the customer’s requirements are being met. Pam’s strong understanding of materials, manufacturing and quality helps lead the team to success.
Edward Washington, Jr.
Process Engineer
Edward has over 46 years of experience in the electronics and manufacturing field, including PCBA manufacturing, prototyping and test engineering. He also has extensive experience working with government agencies, including the Presidential White House Communications Agency, U.S. Secret Service (USSS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Air Force (USAF) and national law enforcement agencies. Throughout his career, Edward has been recognized with USAF Commendation and Achievement Medals, as well as the USSS Interdepartmental Joint Service Achievement Medal. He holds an FCC Commercial General Radiotelephone Operator License, Radio Technician (General, Elements 1 and 3) License and a degree in RF Communications Electronic Engineering from the Community College of the Air Force. In his free time, he can often be found developing electronic gadgets, creating sculptures, animations and music, and spending time with his family and pet parrot, Elijah.
